Both front and rear drive unit for sale. 3800$ each. From a salvage 70 D 2015. The car was running and driving. Both motors were working well. The rear engine is the same size then the front engine. It is not like in a p85d that you have a big performance engine in the back.

I'm wondering what is the reality of converting a RWD to an all wheel drive by buying the motors. I'm guessing that the various other pieces of hardware I'd need make this work uneconomical, but wondering if it can be done...

First you have to have a model s with the frame for all wheels drive. There is hole in the front frame so that the drive axle can go thru. They introduce the all wheels drive late 2014

It could be done but it will be very complicated and you loose your warranty.

Are you saying that all model S bodies after 2014 are compatible with all wheel drive? (mine is a 2016 RWD).
