In any case, aluminum is one of the best conductors in existence, though the conductivity is going to vary depending on the alloy used.

Actually it's relatively poor, which is why the tesla ac motor uses copper bars in the squirrel-cage rotor.

Yes, silver, copper, and gold are better, but it is 4th on that list. It's significantly better than other materials used in car bodies like steel (mostly iron), or plastics (which are insulators unless treated with something). Aluminum is commonly used for inexpensive wiring because it is a good conductor and much cheaper than the three better conductors.
