DRIVE UNIT FAILURE REAR Model 3 LR AWD 16k

I think it will only continue working if there's a front drive unit failure. Maybe there's some theoretical failure mode for the rear permanent magnet motor that would still allow it to freewheel but I'm not sure it's ever happened. They really need to add some fine print to the website.

I can confirm that the AWD is drivable with a dead front motor. There is very little power--very slow to accel from stop, hard to climb long hills etc--but top speed is fine. When my front motor died, I drove it ~5mi to the service center, and they were able to resolve it (loose wiring harness) in about 3 hours.
