Driver’s Seat Forward-Reverse Function Problems

Just started noticing “ratcheting,” or skipping (with noise) when I move the seat (with me sitting in it). Seat does not glide forward or reverse smoothly when this happens. It is still working, but giving signs of eventual failure? Background details:

  • Early 2021 (actually built 12/20) Model X LR 5-seater.
  • Very low mileage (~7,000 m.)
  • Driven most days.
  • Passenger seat not used much (so no problem there).
  • Seat is moved forward and back at least once every time I drive. (For entry/exit ease of access.)
  • I weigh 220 lbs.
  • Seat recliner seems fine.
I am thinking that it is a thread issue (e.g., worn tooth/cog/gear).

QUESTIONS
  1. Have others experienced this problem?

  2. Is this a common or unusual problem with Model X or Teslas in general?

  3. Am I right in thinking that it is indicative of potential total failure?

  4. Any suggestions?
Anticipating any humorous remarks, yes a diet is an obvious suggestion, but I am pretty tall so my weight relative to my height is actually not that bad. Or perhaps not use that function every day? That would be unacceptable to me. A feature like that should, imo, operate properly for the life of the vehicle.

Obviously, I will contact Tesla Service. (But I want to research the issue first.)
