Driver Side Mirror Turned Out...Fix, Please

My wife hit my driver mirror with her side door and turned the mirror out. I don't want to pull it back in as I feel the force I had to use seemed as though it could break an internal component. Any ideas on what to do would be appreciated. I'm also trying to avoid the service center because I'd like to save the time if it's an easy fix.

On my previous two cars this was an easy DIY fix - just push it back.

It should just push back. It locks into a detent in the normal position and requires a good bit of force to push it back.

It does this so it won't break if hit, but also not get repositioned when driving.

Pushing it in worked. The force required to remove it from where it was seated was greater than I thought it would be, but once it was unseated it pushed like any other mirror would.

Glad it worked. It was a little unnerving when mine was flipped once too. Lots of force to return.

happened it me. Push it back, it will go back to normal, make sure the windows are set to be in the open position, not folded, when you do it.

Hope you had Sentry Mode turned on ... I'd file a insurance claim and police report if you have the video

Did the fold work OK afterwards? This happened to mine last night and when I popped it back in (which also surprised me with how much effort it took) it didn't fold on lock, although I've not tried to use the fold option yet.
