Driving from Truckee CA to Bend OR

February 11, 2022 - I drove with my Y from Truckee CA to Bend OR. I charged the car to 310 miles and drove to Susanville adhering closely to the speed limit to not waste any charge. Susanville has 8 charging station in one location behind the casino. They also have a special Tesla entrance to the casino from the charging station. I still had 110 miles left when arriving at the charger. Took about 55 minutes to charge back up .... the last 20% always takes forever. Yet I wanted to make sure I had enough charge to make it to Klammath Falls ..... next Tesla charging option ... again I drove conservatively and no heat or a/c ... neither was necessary as it was a beautiful sunny day. Made it to KF no problem with 92 miles left. Chargers are at Fred Meyers parking lot ..... again last 20% of charge takes forever ... took us almost 1 hour to charge. Made it to Bend - no problem with almost 142 miles left of charge. It was a very enjoyable drive. Fantastic scenery. All together it took us 9 hours including charging stops. The way back was similar just in reverse .... yet I was able to drive a bit faster since we were not climbing as much ..... I highly recommend this beautiful drive in your Tesla! ENJOY!
