DRL remain on while car is off

Within the past few months I've noticed that my S, even after sitting overnight, will have a faint glow to the DRL. I can't provide a picture because the glow is so faint (though I could probably set a camera to do a long exposure on a tripod). The glow comes from the part of the DRL that is vertical going down either side of the front of the car - it doesn't seem to be coming from the top or bottom horizontal bits.

Yes, I have done things like remove all other light sources in the garage to make sure it wasn't a reflection, though I can't recall if I've seen it while the car is disconnected from the HPWC since I nearly always hook the car up.

Has anyone else seen this? It seems both weird and wasteful to me.

Pictures. Lights on in the garage, and with lights off. Car had been sitting for 3+ hours since I last drove it.

While that’s unusual, it probably isn’t consuming very much power... a fraction of a watt at most.

Do keep an eye on your overnight vampire drain. It’s possible that something isn’t going to sleep.

I have the same issue occurring on mine as well. I posted something here a few days ago I think. I actually have a service appointment to get it corrected. It is somewhat intermittent yes, but I do know when the car is sleeping, the light goes off. I can't seem to figure out why it stays on.

My roommate’s Fiat 500e does the same thing with the LED side markers anytime the main HV contractor is closed. The LEDs are sensitive to even the slightest voltages.

Many modern vehicles will send a small voltage (or a pulse) to all of the lights to test for non-functioning lamps as part of the active lamp monitoring system. Sometimes this is enough power for LEDs to just barely glow.

As long as your vehicles are going to sleep as expected, I wouldn’t be concerned about the DRLs glowing slightly when the car is awake.
