Hi,

When I bought the Model S on Aug 2019, the car and the app reported this range at the charging section slider:

90%: 520km
100%: 580km

Since maybe a month ago the numbers are:

90%: 512km
100%: 569km

is that normal for that numbers to change over time?

Also, although I have the car set to charge to 90% (512km), the app says ‘charging complete’ although it reports 506km. Is it normal to stop not exactly at the 90% - 512km ?

Thank you!!

Yes this is normal. In fact, your car is doing better than mine from the same time frame. I’ve lost 5% myself. Check for threads on this subject on TMC. Not charging to exactly the same number on each charge is normal, too. Measuring hundredths or even thousandths of volts is difficult. Battery capacity varies slightly with temperature. The battery is warm when charging and cools after. This may result in the range being reported slightly lower. You haven’t actually lost anything as when the battery warms up driving, The energy is still there.

This chart from Teslafi shows my battery degradation, along with it my range has decreased. My car is 8 yrs old. I never charge to 100%, but my car has shown 245 miles several times at 90%. Which I consider a miracle, since my battery pack is so old. Every car is different, we live in different places, there are so many variables to charging and range. I know I have babied my battery pack, never get below (20miles) or charge above 190 miles.
