So T-reX, along with the Italian Stampede, drove from SoCal to NorCal for #MontereyCarWeek. More pictures to be posted separately. I have the blessed occasion to visit the Tesla at Seaside sales, service and supercharger and was 5-star treated like a king by all of them.

SEAN, the Sales GM was so ingratiating! Genuinely welcoming me like as if I were family! He introduced me to FRANCO, the service Manager who was so compassionate in his explanation of what he could do for my service issues, even helping me out after hours because he knew I was in a time crunch. Even the things he could not immediately do for me, he gave me a non-rushed explanation of why not and set me up for follow-up services when I got back home. Salt of the earth guy as were so many of the Tesla employees I met when I was there at sales, service and even the Superchargers!

Elon, you have to visit these guys to know from top to bottom the extraordinary team you're building! Just ask Franz, he was coincidentally there too!

Had a whirlwind fortnight with the #iStampedeGang at #MontereyCarWeek & just now coming up for air. Here is #10poundRacing at #NobuNobuNobu before the festivities! Then the 2nd video is at the start line of the Italian Stampede! The near-million dollar cars in this pack are no match off the line for my near-6,000 lb. (&7 passenger) car! When I first started going with this group of 100 exotics, they had no love for Tesla and could scarcely pronounce it! Now 5 of the 100 came up to me and secretly told me that they had P90DL Ss or Xs and it was their favorite daily driver. A few others came up after the event and said they'd be ordering! #rEVolution!

 
Blessed to have held company with amazing men (& women) who have brought all these cars (but for the NSX) on the Italian Stampede(s). Have enjoyed raising the awareness of Tesla to these folks and now, with the impending P100D, I'm sure more of them will join the #rEVolution, as so many of us have including those of us who were here at the #TeslaSeaside 1 year anniversary party during #MontereyCarWeek!

Long overdue update: The T Sportline guys installed the 'brain' under the carpet. You can't feel this 'Frankenstein' implant but the car knows its there and freely allows updates. Been using it for over a month. That being said, one thing they opted NOT to do was to install the 'latch' so that the car would also sense that because THAT you'd feel when you stepped between the seats where that 7th (ghost) seat was. Hassle with that is that each time you take it out of park you just have to 'x' out of this screen. #NowYouKnow

i like the front grill illuminated.. do you have any photos of what they used/installed in there? where they got the power (are they tied to the lights, or on when the car is on?

Was the Escort 8500 "older" 15 months ago when it was installed or are you saying there is something newer in 2017?

The Escort 8500 CI was introduced in 2010. The radar portion is just like their 8500x50 windshield model. There are many older reviews that show it is a good to very good radar detector. I wouldn't change that out unless you wanted top of the line Ka-band detection or auto-learning of false signals or needed the detector to be stealth to radar detector detectors in Virginia.

Escort came out with a new installed radar/laser system called the Max360 CI last month. It has dual radar antenaes so you can see the direction of the radar signal (like the Valentine 1) and the front radar antenna likely will have one of the longest ranges as well as improved blindspot signal rejection. The Laser shifters are currently being tested, but looks like there are some early bugs that need to be worked out.

I am concerned about your current laser jammers. I guessed they were ZR3, but could be ZR4 shifters. Regardless, the ZR4 shifters were discontinued in 2014. They are not updatable with new firmware. Even back then, they were not the best jammers on the market. If you are concerned about being bullet-proof to laser traps in LA, I would get the 5-head Antilaser Priority to replace your current shifters.
