Although I can understand your logic, I’m pretty sure Tesla doesn’t care one bit about what happens after they sell you a software upgrade and recognize the revenue in that quarter.

Curious how this "coverage" work. Is it for when you total your car and All State will pay to have it added to your replacement car? Or they pay a market value of the EAP? Thanks

That's brilliantly priced. High enough that they will (on average) make a killing insuring that for people, but low enough to get people to buy it for peace of mind.

If you believe that you're likely to need a replacement within 20 months and that they would pay the full amount to have it replaced, it would pay off. Myself, I would take the risk upon myself, and if the car was totaled and if Tesla wouldn't transfer it to a new car and if I couldn't afford to purchase again, I would just have to make do without it.

Market value

I had a 2019 Model 3 with FSD that was totaled. The FSD added $7k to my market value of a 4 month old, 2000 mi vehicle.
