Question is, how long was it hiding?

As far as I can tell, for a while... Especially since the roadster studio has the same egg (in fact, it's more useful in the roadster studio). I suspect it was originally for debugging.

Oh, this is real. I thought people were kidding about this unlock code. I'll have to try it out.

It really works -- it accomplishes nothing, but it does generate the dialog box.

That's the reason for the open console area, Mark -- it's the place for the drop-in thorium reactor to continually recharge the battery.

    Unlocked the bonus views

It crashed after this. I couldn't seem to reproduce it.

    I'm not getting it.

I go to the design studio for S.

Model S Design Studio | Tesla Motors

    CAPS LOCK ON.

up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Enter.

Erm, for me ... nothing happens.

    Nothing at all.

    Am I missing something?

The design studio has seen many iterations since this thread was last active. It's possible that they've since removed it.

Slightly off topic, but maybe someone can help me. I've never been able to get the design studio to work on an iPad at all. Tapping the Design button does nothing at all. I figured it was just incompatible with the iPad but if others have gotten it to work, please share any tips. Thanks!

It just worked for me, but does not do anything other than popping up the dialog box
