I have with a Roadster and Model S... 30A, if I remember correctly.

Just bring your J1772 adapter...

My home was a builder's model and the builder had installed an Eaton Level 2 Charger (the house has 60 solar panels for electric with 2 Eaton inverters). The charger is on a 20 foot cable and has this type of end, and I am trying to learn if it can be used with the Tesla with some type of adopter. It looks like this:

Can't tell if that's a J1772 by that picture, can you take a picture sideways?

If you're driving an S or X, Tesla includes the J1772 to Tesla adapter. That normally would plug into one end of the charger and the other end plugs into the charging port.

This is a photo I took at the house, but I am away until next week. I take delivery of my Model S 90 on October 6.

How do you connect it to your Tesla?

J1772 adapter that comes with the car.

Do you just attach the J1772 adapter to the end of the Eaton and will that plug into the Tesla, or do you use the long Tesla cable? As a newbie I have no idea where the adapter goes.

The Eaton Level 2 Charger that I have is made for residential use. The builder had a Volt and used it.

Your Tesla should come with a charge cable & a couple of adapters including a J1772 like this:

Tesla — SAE J1772

... so all you should have to do it put the above adapter on your Eaton charge cable and them insert it into your Tesla charge port.

Wow, that sounds very...authoritative. That is not how Tesla says to do it, so perhaps you should be a little cautious about giving such a supposed correction. In the charging video from Tesla (at 4 minutes in), it shows that you attach the adapter onto the J1772 cable, and then plug it into the charge port.

Understood, but based on what I saw from the Internet, I assumed that it's a 30A station...
