It's been stated elsewhere, but I'm disappointed by Edmund's assessment of the battery's usefulness and the implied comparison to an ICE.

The first comment that caught me off guard was that a 220 mile range is only good "for a short commute". Pardon me? My 50 mile round trip commute takes two hours out of my day and really doesn't strike me as "short". It occurs to me that they may be working from the 'days between fill-ups' mentality.

What really irked me is the comment at the end that an electric vehicle will only show it's muscle the first few minutes after you leave the garage. They presented that as fact based on torque-limited acceleration runs. It came off (IMHO) as an implication that the car gets slower and slower as the battery empties. And the comment seemed to negate torque-limiting as a feature - my ICE should be so smart as to make me drive economically when I'm near empty.
