Effect on tires with car idle for several weeks?

Ordered my Model S 85 on February 6, 2015 and it's on it's way! That's the good news.... the bad news is that I must be out of town for another 8 weeks or so after it has been delivered!

I have arranged for the car to be delivered to my house while I am away with the help of the delivery specialist and a good friend who lives nearby, but the car will be sitting in the garage for 8 weeks (plugged in, of course) and not driven. Though my friend can open up the garage and allow it to be parked, I don't feel confident allowing him or others to drive it while I am away.

My concern is that the tires will be out of round due to the long length of time it is sitting idle. Will this do permanent damage to the 19" tires?

Any thoughts?

Eight weeks aren't a problem. If it was a lot longer, the best practice is to put the car on blocks and lower the pressure to 8-10 psi. Flat spotting happened frequently with bias-ply nylon carcass tires. It's unlikely to happen with modern radial tires.
