Dan Public Transportation - The first electric bus - route# 5
The bus is made by China's BYD. It has a 250 km range from an overnight charge obtained through an adapter on the roof that extends up to a tram-like electric point source, and I think the bus can be collect another 30 km in 5 minutes of charging if needed.
Maintenance is presumed to cost about 25% of diesel buses, and at local rates, fuel will cost 33% of diesel.
The bus company is mostly private and there is very little to no subsidy available for 'Green' initiatives so it seems fair to guess that these buses are being introduced to save the company money. Cool.
