Soon your car will be able to run off the noise around it.

Self-powered devices possible, says researcher | Science Blog

But wait! If the cars are quiet then we need to have noise makers to power our cars but then our cars don't need to be quiet so...(cue smoke from brain)

I have always thought this was a great idea. Group powering the TV, and lights with a large interactive readout would really get a room full of exercisers pumped up.
Individually the ability to store E-E-Credits (Exercise Energy or Exercise Electricity)on a card that you can redeem at your car charging point or at home. Yeah it's not much but it's wasted energy anyway and it would feel good.

A number of exercise machines, treadmills, elipticals, bikes, etc. already use the power generated by exercise to power the displays on the machines. I've read that the average in shape human can sustain about 200 watts for extended periods.
