We thought about this but then we'd have to cater to literally every make and model. We don't have the bandwidth and want to keep it exclusive to EV's only. We do want to get some local partnerships going so that we can refer customers to a place they know will take good care of them. Do you have any recommendations?

Thanks for the reply, understand the ICE conflict. Would be nice to find a shop where I didn't feel the need to check the lift or call out torque specs for Model S lug nuts. Perhaps TMC members within range of your EV Garage can message a few knowledgeable places.

We haven’t needed loaners because of our approach to fixing the car and same day turn around. However we are looking into partnering with a local car rental company for when the need arises. We can valet you to work within a reasonable distance.
Perhaps a partnership with NH1 MotorPlex for EV rentals for nearby /short-range customers? Really short range that is...

Congrats!

How are you getting parts, service manuals, and access to Tesla-specific diagnostic software and tools?
I know Massachusetts has good "Right to Repair" laws which require Tesla to make the diagnostic stuff and repair/service manuals available to vehicle owners and independent repair shops. But according to the initial post, the shop is going to be in NH so that might be moot. However, according to his videos, Rich is a MA resident and he owns some "Teslas", so he would personally qualify.

Congrats and Best Wishes for 2019
Thank you!

No one outside Tesla and certified body shops (very limited abilities) has access to Tesla specific diagnostic software. Tools can be made easily. Massachusetts right to repair does absolutely nothing to help this situation even if we were in Massachusetts. Tesla has stonewalled everyone on this topic even after being sued!
We have alternatives that aren’t available to the general public for use to enable us to still get things done as well as having 14+ years of experience working on them, most things aren’t a surprise anymore. If you’re out of warranty or salvage then we can get things reprogrammed.

Also most of what you’d need diagnostic software for is parts that are restricted anyways so we can’t buy the parts so no real need for the software. However we can buy unrestricted parts using the owners VIN.

A good friend went to court with Tesla about this in Massachusetts and still lost because of the wording in the law.

A local Tesla Owner is starting up his own car sharing service. We will most likely be partnering up to have 1-2 Tesla's on hand as loaner cars through his service or high end luxury ICE is those are out of the question. The customer will get special discount rates on these options.
