Blog Elon Musk’s Brother is Raffling Off His Model 3 for Charity

Kimbal Musk, the brother of Elon Musk, is giving away his personal Model 3 in a fundraiser for his nonprofit foundation Big Green.

The vehicle is one of the first Model 3s produced – VIN#0006. Kimbal Musk shared a video to his Instagram page this week promoting the fundraiser.

Big Green aims to build a healthier future for kids by connecting them to real food through a nationwide network of learning gardens and food literacy programs.

According to a webpage for the fundraiser:

Your donation will help Big Green establish a culture in schools that promotes youth wellness and reduce preventable diet-related health disparities. Just $50 can provide seeds, plants and supplies for a single school’s garden for a whole year, so think of the difference we can all make together. The more children who have the opportunity to learn, play and grow in healthy communities, the more we can build lifelong healthy habits for kids.

A donation of just $10 earns 100 entries for the Model 3, while $100 earns 2,000 entries, and a $5,000 donation earns 50,000 entries.

Haha - but it has ALCANTARA! That alone makes those problems worth it

In all seriousness, I think most people would be happy to deal with any quirks to own a Model 3 for a couple hundred bucks, but particularly one that was owned by the founder's family and was one of the first 10 production models off the line. Super cool stuff - hope he pulls in a ton! His garden initiative is sorely needed.
