Elon says final reveal in July

Let me try to explain my thinking in a different way. I don't believe the Blue and Black models recently seen are the final product. They are merely "test mules." The final release model is being kept under wraps which will have some minor design tweaking to exterior and interior (already completed) different from the test mules. Elon is a master showman if nothing else. I don't think he would be so careless to show the final product on the streets (without camo) three months before the actual release. The blue and black mules are red herrings for testing purposes only, in my opinion.
Elon said directly that the black model 3 he posted a video of was a "release candidate". That means that if everything goes as intended, the candidate will be released. It's not a test mule.

The release candidates are validating the manufacturing processes, listening for rattles and feeling the ride quality compared to the competition. Any tweaks they do between now and July are all about shoring up the fit and finish, not design changes. Way too late for that now.

Yes! I believe the work on the car is nearly if not completely done. From JB's recent announcement it seems like the only real thing holding back mass production is the automation of actually building the cars. That's not trivial and it's probably the biggest obstacle to Tesla making on-time deliveries.

I didn't think they'd be as far along as they are. Hope the speed of development doesn't backfire.

What did he say? I've been out of the loop lately keeping up.

JB announced that Grohmann Engineering (Now Tesla Advanced Automation) was going to drop all existing contracts for the company to solely focus on Model 3 production. Shocking news to the many many other manufacturers that used Grohmann.

I'm certain the software is still being worked on as well. I'm betting there will be a few functions that will be "introduced" at a later time after the first production vehicles hit customer's hands.

What else has to be revealed?
The interface. The screen interface has not been revealed yet, nor the steering wheel inputs, could have different buttons in the steering wheel that do different things than the S/X.
Also options and pricing.
Design is obviously not going to change, only some details could be adjusted.

... A few minutes later they get in their cars and drive them off-stage. Musk returns to the stage and introduces a video going through all the features of the car, revealing all options and everything like that.

The video ends and Musk says something like "and for those shorts who think these are some fake hand made cars and we won't produce any more for another year, we take you now to a live feed from Fremont, where cars are rolling of the line now." And they do just that, on the live feed Sarah Connor walks through the door at the factory and starts tossing grenades blowing up everything in site, yelling "You're already dead, judgment day is coming!, Elon stop now!!!" After the live feed, Musk invites the world to go to Tesla.com and configure a Model 3 for themselves(the website subsequently crashes 5 minutes later as skynet goes live) Musk finished the night by thanking all the hard work by everyone and invites us all back to see the new semi in September. The rest is history.

Elon is no Jobs when it comes to secret-keeping. Tesla is not even an Audi when ot comes to secret-keeping regarding mules on roads.

Tesla has driven final cars without disguise and the roads with previous models and unless something has now dramatically changed, they are doing it again now with Model 3.

Som notable TMC members lost public bets by making similar guesses for Model X talking about prototype panels and whatnot. They were simply wrong. Tesla was driving very lightly camouflaged final cars in broad daylight.

Wasn't the X running around in public looking like this a few before the final unveiling?
