"Am considering taking Tesla private at $420. Funding secured." - Elon Musk
Elon Musk on Twitter
Could be a joke but he might be serious.
Maybe Elon is just trying to jump the stock price in order to burn the shorts.
"420"?? Is he trying to burn the shorts in a joint? I think Musk visited a dispensary this morning and started tweeting. Quick, someone take his phone away!!
Pretty funny either way.
But, can you make an announcement like that during trading hours? Stock prices shot up immediately after tweet.
Interested development if true.
Tesla gets $2 billion backing from Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund
It was already shot up mostly due to Saudi soverign fund bought (or buying) $2 billion TSLA in open market. Then Elon tweeted it shortly after.

And Canadians are no longer eligible to buy Teslas
I agree it was very odd tweet to make but I rather enjoy that he did it anyway. Twitter seems to be a free pass, its like its not real if its a tweet. If its good enough for the guy in the white house everyone else might as well jump on board.

That's assuming he's spreading false information - if he's serious, it's kosher. The SEC declined to comment on this tweet (so far).
Tesla just posted this: Tesla
Well looks like the tweet was legitimate after all.
Wish I had some spare change to buy some TSLA stock.
Gosh, my first thought was "great idea".
As a former techie, I know how ridiculous trying to meet quarterly numbers can drive decisions the wrong way...
In this case, I think it's actually halal.
Its going to be crazy if the Saudis end up owning the electric car. Its crazy to think the oil barons of the middle east are the ones that realize its time to diversify and go green.
That would be criminal:

Looks like this is happening... Wow!
Anyone have any idea how this would work if you decide to keep your shares, but own them in your TFSA or RRSP?
