It was already shot up mostly due to Saudi soverign fund bought (or buying) $2 billion TSLA in open market. Then Elon tweeted it shortly after.

I agree it was very odd tweet to make but I rather enjoy that he did it anyway. Twitter seems to be a free pass, its like its not real if its a tweet. If its good enough for the guy in the white house everyone else might as well jump on board.

That's assuming he's spreading false information - if he's serious, it's kosher. The SEC declined to comment on this tweet (so far).
