Moving aside from the PV wasteland...

As someone who's been tucked into a ball rocking back and forth about Elon the past few weeks I felt much better after watching the All In interview. Why oh why is he so wonderful and centrist [left of center?] in interviews but manages to be the lovechild of Tucker and Jordan Peterson on Twitter?

Sitting across from a human in a discussion changes peoples behavior than posting messages on the internet.

"Twitter does not believe in free speech."
"Our jobs are at stake. He's a capitalist and we weren't really operating like capitalists, more like very socialist. Like we're all like commie as f**k."
"I basically went to work like four hours a week last quarter. And it's just how it works in our company."
Reminder : Some "engineers" from India are so radicalized, anyone other than a full blown Nazi is considered a "commie". If anyone thinks Fox News "encourages violence" - multiple channels in India openly discuss genocide of 100 million Muslims day in and day out.

ps : This is not to say the moderation policy might not have a "liberal bias". Afterall if banning racist hate speech (as per Twitter policy) is "liberal bias" .... their moderation obviously has liberal bias.

Maybe he shouldn't post to Twitter. It doesn't come out right and makes him look stupid.

Indeed. Elon Musk has achieved many near-impossible, big, important things. He has the typical good Silicon Valley engineer attitude towards solving problems. He is an engineer at heart.

However, having worked so hard for so long, and achieving adulation of the masses, not to speak of enormous power and wealth has defocused him quite a bit.

Let us see if he can regain the lost focus and bring everything back on track.

This dude called Elon "special needs" let's see how the media handles this. I'm guessing since it goes against the carefully constructed narrative they'll pretend it never happened....

HA HA HA - this guy doesn't even have a clue what Asperger's really is. Someone should tell him that just about everyone with Asperger's is guaranteed to have a substantially higher IQ than he has.

What I got from this video . . . if Elon is successful in his takeover . . . it means that there is a TON of "fat" that can be cut from Twitter. TON.

I also can't take what Elon says seriously. Please Elon buy Twitter to prove me wrong. It's the only way to own the libs.
I would guess that Twitter's inability to turn a profit has more to do with having an absurd number of employees, some of whom appear to be idiots.

ASD correlates with a lower IQ than the neurotypical population. The retired (but colloquially relevant) term “Asperger’s” seems to exceed that but only coming close to the neurotypical population. There are outliers and the “special interest” aspect of the condition can make them look brilliant but I have yet to see anything that suggests they are “guaranteed to have a substantially higher IQ” than the general population. Pop culture has made that stereotype hold but I’m eager to see science that confirms it.

I have multiple close family members on the spectrum (would be Asperger’s) and have a vested interest in the topic so I’m happy to be informed.

Only when you look at ASD as the a whole. And that's a gross over-simplification, one which is actually hotly debated.

Asperger's itself is a VERY specific subset of ASD, and they are known to be typically extremely high functioning and usually normal to high IQ.

Asperger's Syndrome to Autism Spectrum Disorder | Interactive Autism Network (plus look on the left menu and read all the sub-menu items for Aspergers).

Also, scroll down on this link to near the bottom:

The distribution of IQ among the autistic population actually has a much higher percentage of gifted (IQ > 130) than the general population.

Social interaction and lack of the ability to form attachment to other people is the most defining characteristic of ASD, not IQ.

The list of geniuses that are suspected or confirmed to have Asperger's is just down right impressive:

Given PVs very spotty history with the truth I guess we won’t hear anything until the full videos are released

And given PVs very detailed history of massively dishonest editing I don't think the full videos will be released unless lawsuits forcing PV to release them are involved- since every time "full" recordings came out it turns out the persons were largely saying the opposite of what PV edited them into saying.

I appreciate the efforts here but you’re referencing a single meta (inasmuch as I can tell) that has multiple studies that contradict it. Asperger’s (again, no longer a diagnosis), even if we take your single reference at face value, does not by any means “guarantee” a higher IQ than a neurotypical person. I mean, that word alone ruins the argument. It may either: statistically imply a greater chance of a higher IQ, statistically imply a lesser chance of a higher IQ, or do nothing at all to determine the IQ of the individual.

As they say among the diagnosed, if you’ve met one person with Asperger’s, you’ve met one person with Asperger’s.

Be definition, Asperger's has "higher than average intellectual ability":

A developmental disorder related to autism and characterized by higher than average intellectual ability coupled with impaired social skills and restrictive, repetitive patterns of interest and activities.

It actually doesn't matter that we are "arguing" about it. Asperger's was removed as a "specific diagnosis" of ASD as of the DSM 5, with those individuals being re-classified as a subset of HFA (High Functioning Autism).

You could pay everyone at Twitter zero dollars and it still would not be that profitable. While there apparently is fat to trim, that is not the primary problem with Twitter.

as I have said many times, Twitter is just not worth $54 or even $40 in my mind. Unless Elon does something with it and payments, it’s never going to be a blockbuster.

This might help.

Although intranasal oxytocin is expected to be a novel therapy for the core symptoms of autism spectrum disorder, which has currently no approved medication, the efficacy of repeated administrations was inconsistent, suggesting that the optimal dose for a single administration of oxytocin is not optimal for repeated administration

A novel intranasal spray of oxytocin with enhanced bioavailability enabled us to test a wide range of multiple doses, revealing an inverted U-shape dose–response curve, with the peak at a dose that was lower than expected from previous studies. The efficacy of TTA-121 shown in the current exploratory study should be verified in a future large-scale, parallel-group trial.

All this Project Veritas crap is everything that's wrong with the internet, Twitter and the news in general today.

The employee totally got bamboozled by PV into saying stupid things on camera - and PV is rubbing his face in it. Isn't this the kind of speech that all the "free speech" proponents claiming that the left is too "woke" are trying to protect?

And then you have Elon jumping on and bashing the guy as well (who's definitely not an exec - middle management at best) claiming he's trashing free speech. I did not hear him say anything that trashed free speech - simply stated (not very well, I might add) how he sees Twitter moderating content. As a client partner, this guy isn't going to know any of the nuances behind Twitter's content moderation policies so is exactly the wrong person to be quoting because of it.

No one here is coming out looking good, but PV is getting their views and their name out, so they win.

This is all a hot mess of a dumpster fire and it's not getting any better.
