This ceremony is considered to be a very important marketing campaign for Tesla, the delivery is more or less symbolic, I think Elon will only hand over the keys to a very few customers who are celebrities here in China.

I think a significant segment of the buying public would take it as an affront to China if he showed up wearing jeans and a T-shirt.

When inside the Beltway and visiting more formal cultures Elon should do as a visitor to Rome.
