    I wonder to whom the email was sent. Maybe to people who registered with Tesla that they have interest in the Model 3 but didn't yet place a reservation? The wording at the end is encouraging the reader to place a reservation.

    EDIT: lol nevermind. I just got the email, and I reserved in-store on 3/31

    They must be counting all of the reservations as sales (Elon expected an ASP of $42k, that would be $7.5b in "Sales". Of course it will take several years to deliver those sales. iPhone 6s sold 13 million in one day, the latest number I could find for its average selling price is $690, so that's nearly $9b of sales in a day that was probably delivered within a few weeks. It seems like a bit of a stretch for Tesla to make the claim that they did.

    That's still an oddly worded e-mail though. It starts out by thanking reservation holders for helping make history, but concludes by asking them to reserve so they don't miss out. Seems like these were from two different texts intended for different audiences and the copy editor messed up and combined the two.

    Did they charge you $1,000? It took a day or two to get the email but the money came out almost instantly. Sure hope you didn't lose your slot...

    This is a very nice board, but the feature it seems to sorely miss is a Thanks button that let's people say Good Post or I Agree or Me Too. This thread would be perfect if we could just click Yip! in answer to the title question and have it show a tally.

    I just received the initial thanks email for putting in a reservation about a day after I put my deposit down. No correspondence since.

    Update: not on MyTesla, either, so called again. Natick found reservation-typo in email address. They're working on linking to my account.
