Emblem Etch in PPF

Hi all,

I took my emblems off after a month of PPF installation and found this imprint, ghost, etch, whatever you want to call it on the PPF.

Any idea on how to get rid of this? The ppf is XPEL stealth if that matters.

Get rid? It is kind of cool to have a ghost image of the logo.

Put another layer of PPF on top of the existing one, with the exception of where your emblems are. Keep the emblems off and subject your car to the identical conditions (weather, sun, etc.) and duration (one month?) that you previously did on your car. Then remove the extra layer of PPF. By that time the first PPF would have faded to the same level in the areas that the emblems are (were) and that should take care of it.

In case you missed it, I'm exerting a force on one of your lower extremities, away from your torso.

To each their own but this is why I emblem delete all my vehicles. Cleaner look is better IMO especially on the minimalist Model 3.

Does this get left behind when removing “dual motor” badge too? Just picked up car yesterday and that’s one of first things I want to do.... but not if this damaged paint is left behind

Did you have any issues taking the emblem off the PPF?

Try rubbing alcohol first. If that doesn't work, a very mild polish. Try polish in a test area first.

Would a light pass with a heat gun help?

Can’t polish a matte surface. Will make it shiny.
