I frequently enter :) for example instead of using the editor to enter emoticons. That was supposed to be (and may be) a smileyface. (Entered as : ) )

Recently (like today?) at least the manually entered ones are displaying as a square block of nothing. Logged out and in, no change.

Also broken on Safari on iPhone... googling shows issues with both from some emoticon graphic size max issue that may or may not be the actual answer. Mine broke with FF a few days ago (not exactly coincident with 52.0.2?). Safari no idea, probably the same timeframe.

Haven't seen it elsewhere and googling doesn't come up with it being a Xenforum issue. <sigh>

Testing after clearing some things in FF... oddly enough, more googling shows this was supposed to be fixed in FF 52 from a new large graphics file of emoticons from google, etc. Not sure what connection that has, if any, to Xenforum and TMC...

:) ;)

Still broken in FF.

One thread describing the issue, but as I said it was supposed to be fixed in FF 52, so, completely weird.

I have the same problem in IE11 and Edge. I wonder if it is limited to people using the dark theme. (Nope when I switch to the normal theme they show as grey boxes.)

Here is a screenshot: OK I can't upload a screenshot I just get an error. "There was a problem uploading your file."

The other thing I noticed is that they all link to the same graphic: http...s://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/styles/default/xenforo/clear.png (Though the hover text is correct for them.)

Yeah, I can't wrap my head around the clear thing... I thought something was replacing/filtering... but then when I looked at it in Chrome (where it works), and copied just the path of the graphic (one of them), it still says clear: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/styles/default/xenforo/clear.png

So, something else is up.

I know, and they work in some Safaris.... talk about weirdness. I think from what I googled it has to be the same 'emoticon' file's issue (too large to use). But I don't know how, since these seem to be local graphic files on TMC/Xenforo. And, if not, what would break on some browsers...
