Environmental Impact of Battery/Car Production

    Does anyone have any links to good peer reviewed studies/resources comparing the environment impact of an electric car to an ICE car? I'm constantly finding myself in discussions with people who insist the process of mining/building/disposing of lithium baterries is actually worse than the emissions from an ICE engine. I want to be able to refute them with facts... And yes I get that this is an apples to oranges comparison. Any resources you've found helpful would be appreciated!

    TLDR:
    Just for CO2.
    It's CO2 equivalent, 101kg-146kg/kWh of battery. Down from 150kg-200kg/kWh in 2017 (which included recycling of 15kg/kWh). Lower end of the range would be better energy in cell production.
    Burning 1 gallon of gasoline is about 9.09kg of CO2eq. That doesn't take into account any production, refining or distribution.
