ESS 1.5

Let's start a list of the differences between the 1.0 and 2.0 ESS
External differences
1) Different connectors for high voltage to PEM and HVAC
2) The HVIL connector found on the 2.0 enclosure is integrated into the high voltage cable to the PEM

Internal differences
1) BSM PCB is slightly different and has a smoke detector (round and white just as you would find in your home)
2) APS is built by a different company and has perforations around its enclosure
3) Sheet covers are white and don't wrap around the edges as much as the black covers in the 2.0
4) There's a BPS PCB mounted on the roof on the left hand side of the battery (right side if you're looking at the battery straight on with the cover removed, or directly above the BSM PCB)
5) The BPS (Backup Power Supply) has wires that tap into the first two sheets for power (this is the equivalent to the 12V battery found on the 2.X Roadsters and provides up to 10 minutes of 12V power to safety critical devices when the APS shuts down)
6) The sheets have more thermistors installed in them
7) Different firmware on the BSM and CSB

I might have overlooked smaller differences, so feel free to append differences. Also, the BMBs have similar firmware between the 1.0 and 2.0 ESS, so in theory you should be able to exchange sheets between them.

wow, that's quite a load of differences -

I will contact you seperately, because there's a 1.5 Roadster here in Europe with a bricked pack (dead for min. 3 years...), it might be the best to either purchase a complete 1.0 pack from you or rather convince the guy to purchase a EU-Roadster and take his for bodyparts
