    The text you quoted says "should" rather than "shall", and is in the preamble rather than the directive itself. So it is not a mandatory requirement of the directive. Certainly a national transposition of the directive could take that approach, but the UK transposition with the exemption for specific manufacturer chargepoints is also permitted by the directive (BTW, that exemption applies equally to chargepoints at Nissan dealers for example as well as Tesla).

    That's interesting. The Dutch text uses a form that implies strict obligation by using the verb 'moeten' (must).

    So does the French text by using the verb 'devoir' (must)

    I know too little of the German language to give any opinion either way in that translation. Maybe a native German speaker can help?

    Now I am not a native English speaker, so correct me if wrong. But should implies am imperative, just one that may be excepted (contrary to must and shall), doesn't it? If so, has there been any additional commentary from the UK legislator on that specific exemption and the reason of granting it?

    Also, ironically the EU translation guidelines uses 'should' throughout but then doesn't actually discuss its use under 'verbs in legal texts' while it does explain shall/must and may.

    Interesting: 3 new Supercharger locations in France added Nov 16 with 140 kW - got unnoticed so far I believe...

    Might that be a typo or so? 140kW seems like a very small bump over the existing 135kW

    Which figures are you comparing? The Tesla website map generally quotes 120kW (or less in the case of Urban superchargers), being the maximum per-car output, limited by the capability of the car.

    135kW is one possible per-cabinet output, depending on the input voltage.

    A Tesla datasheet for the Gen-II supercharger lists:

    380V, 126kVA input -> 115kW output
    400V, 133kVA input -> 120kW output
    480V, 160kVA input -> 145kW output

    The first corresponds to locations where the single phase supply voltage is 220V for historical reasons. The second corresponds to harmonized 230V/400V power which doesn't really exist anywhere but is an approximation for most of Europe. The third corresponds to the USA, and sites in Europe where Tesla have their own transformers. All of these are based on an input current of 192A per phase, the available power scaling with the voltage.

    Installed close to the transformer in countries where the upper limit is 400+10% (such as the UK) will therefore get about 440V input and about 133kW output - presumably the source of the 135kW figure.

    I think it is a typo on supercharge.info indeed.

    How can we go about getting this enforced? As in who do we complain to in order to have an investigation started?

    Department of Transport or whatever it's called these days? Or maybe it's a consumer issue, i.e. Trading Standards? Or even the Department of Energy?

    Hi all, I am looking for some stats on the energy delivered from the supercharger network. I have seen this screen online previously. Has anyone seen it since and have a photo? I believe it can be found at some supercharger sites and Tesla stores. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ryan
