Looking at the new dual plug layout of European Superchargers in order to support Model 3 CCS, I have noticed the old DC Type 2 plug for S/X has been modified.
Now, the non-CCS plugs cannot be inserted into a standard Type 2 inlet. Only Model S/X do have this slot to permit its insertion, look at the attached picture.
Reading the ISO norm, this slot is required for mode 1 type 2 sockets. It also adds about 20 mm to the length of the pins inside the socket. Clever move from Tesla years ago to increase the amp rating of their system, even thought I am not sure they used this capability. I need to measure a plug on site
P.S: Now, no one without a Tesla can take a picture of his car connected to a Type 2 SuC but he would plug the Combo2 tough!
