EV Charger for Home Recommendations

Hi everybody,

I'm looking to purchase an EV charger as a Christmas gift for my parents (they owns a Model 3) living in Tokyo. However, I'm currently doing research and I've looked on Amazon Canada but I don't think the products sold here are compatible with Japan's regulations/standards (I'll list some links below for reference).

Anyone have recommendations to products or local suppliers that I could reach out to?

Links to products I've looked at for reference:

Thanks!

Hi, @kelvinyu0923; welcome to the forum! Apologies for not responding sooner.

If your parents own a Model 3, the U.S. version of the Wall Connector works just fine. Japanese Tesla models share the same connector and A.C. standards (100V / 200V instead of 120V / 240V).

About non-Tesla chargers, you need to make sure it supports Japanese voltages - the electrical standard dictates that the equipment should work down to 197V or so, but some equipment may have issues with 200V. So, I would recommend asking your manufacturer.
