That car was built to set records. There are things you do to build a land speed record machine that are not compatible with daily use.
It is an impressive feat, as it is just a bit faster than the 638HP C6 Corvette ZR1.
If Chevrolet sold one I'd be shopping. I don't think Chevrolet is involved in that project since they do very little (read none) direct sponsorship for LSR.
GM said they would assist me with technology in our LSR record setting, then at the last minute pulled out. All we were looking for was a transmission flash file, since the factory computer in that model had no tables over 155mph, so manual gear selection was impossible at higher speeds. We still set records, but withot the right flash file, it was a serious PITA.
