    $6,000,000,000 [read 6 billion] 100,000 Vans for Amazon = $60,000/Van
    How about 600,000 vehicles => $10,000 / vehicle
    How about 6,000,000 vehicles => $1,000 per vehicle

    side note: Tesla made 1,000,000th car about March 9, 2020.
    2008 => 2020 about 12 years to make about 1 Million vehicles.
    Tesla produces its 1 millionth electric car - Electrek
    2008 first Roadster "... (about) 2,418 units sold by September 2012."
    2010-2019 (10 years) Tesla R&D = ~$7 Billion => $7000 per vehicle
    Tesla's R&D costs 2010-2019 | Statista
    includes vehicles S/X/3/Y/SEMI/Roadster 2008&2020/CyberTruck + batteries

    Rivian Capital vs Tesla R&D - not really a proper comparison is it.
    We shall see how Rivian compares when they actually make vehicles.

    they have been on a hiring spree, that much I know.

    they are something to watch. so far, a very serious player, but at early stages.

    and they are collecting some good people, so I would not bet against them ;)
