It seems odder that they would purposely not sell 4 1/2 months worth of X's, which is probably around 14-15k cars, which is probably over a billion in sales.

Tesla can sell to other countries, but they have said in the past they will maximize the tax credit and hitting 200k US deliveries on July 1st is the best way to do that.

Confirmed. US website now shows delivery date for all new Model S as June.

Elon has said multiple times that X/S sales over the past quarter were going to be a bit lower because they assigned some people from those lines to the Model 3.

So I wonder if they are doing it again, and adding as many people as they can to the 3, and that's why X/S are 4 months out.

This is my bet. I'm ready to order a Model X, I'm just spooked that they'll do a big refresh right after I get mine.
Instead, I'm waiting until the next refresh and THEN I will order.
(or, if the tax credit is about to expire, I may just make the move, too).

Willing to wait a few months to get a refreshed version of something I intend to have for 8+ years...
