That's good news. Hopefully they'll expand that nationwide soon. I assume the chargers that are equipped with the adapters will show on plugshare.

They'll show up on EVgo's website for sure and they'll be added into the Tesla navigation. Unfortunately if it's the same as their current Tesla plugs in CA, it's just a built in CHAdeMO adapter with a longer cable so it will be limited to 50 kW even as they are building new stations that support higher rates.

EVgo first launched the integrated Tesla connectors at its locations in San Francisco and Los Angeles in December 2019, positioning itself as the first multi-standard fast charging platform to offer Tesla connectors in the U.S., and remains the only third-party fast charging network to be incorporated in the Tesla navigation system in the U.S.

To clarify, from the site [emphasis added]:

"EVgo welcomes Tesla drivers to fast charge at any one of our 800+ EVgo stations using your own Tesla CHAdeMO adapter, the Tesla CHAdeMO adapters installed at select Los Angeles EVgo stations, or the Tesla connectors available at select San Francisco EVgo stations."

In other words, they've got a few Tesla compatible plugs in LA and SF where you don't have to supply your own adapter. Otherwise, you can buy your own Chademo adapter, which... of course you can. :-/

If/when they greatly expand the last 2 options outside just LA and SF, then it might be a bit more relevant.

No, they bolted a Tesla CHAdeMO adapter on the side of the charger and fitted a long cable to it. If you want to charge a Leaf, you unplug the CHAdeMO plug from the adapter. They put the Tesla connector holster in the spot where the CHAdeMO used to be so that people would "holster" the CHAdeMO cable in the Tesla adapter.

It is just one company doing this and on limited 'chargers' - a CCS adapter is still desirable...

I suspect that over time all their charging stations will be upgraded. There's a EVGo station at a supermarket near us and in all the time it's been there, I've never seen an EV charging there.

I believe that's just a limitation of the charger itself:

Yes, it will behave the same way that all CHAdeMO charging via the Tesla adapter does.
