Evolution of the Tesla seats (question)

Referencing Teslatap's seat discussion, everything after "Gen 1.5" is listed as an option. Various threads in this forum discuss swapping out seats for NextGen, or which seat is better, or has NextGen been replaced with "Premium," but it always sounds like those are optional upgrades. So would a new Model S today come with the 1.5 still?

I'm on the hunt for an ~2016 85D. What seats should I expect it to have?

Thanks much. :)

New Model S come standard with 3rd generation "Premium" seats. A 2016 85D will have either 2nd generation "NextGen" seats if it's pre-refresh (old style front end), or the 3rd generation "Premium" seats if it's post-refresh (new style front end). The original style seats (Gen 1 and Gen 1.5 look identical) were discontinued in 2015.
