Cannot see that happening tbh, and as for the bus lanes, well in theory to help with emissions etc. ice should use them and not sit in traffic jams, and electric should sit in traffic jams

Can't see that happening. I think there are or soon will be too many EV's to make it practical. Bus and Taxi firms have already come out very firmly against.

It already happens... Improving buses

I worked with people who were "Upgrading signals to prioritise buses at traffic signals including bus only movements" and I was personally involved in trialing some of the other aspects.

Probably part of a wider campaign to encourage the switch, it'd soon be turned off once the numbers were up and the EV market had the momentum it needed to achieve their climate change goals.

Sort the charging infrastructure.

Stuff like this, as well as driving in bus lanes etc is just garnish that no one is particularly clamouring for. The Government has to seriously commit to the charging infrastructure and incentives in order to get this to actually be a thing. New builds being made with zero charging infrastructure is inexcusable now.

Instead of wasting time integrating this rubbish they should look at improving public infrastructure.

I am sure a government funded charging network could work if they got behind it

Personally quite like the idea.
And back in Lisbon you get free public parking if you drive an EV, which is quite nice.
Would prefer the more understated version of the green number plate but the idea has my vote

* optional (opt out), not compulsory
* only a visual/initial aid. EVs without it or ICEs with it won’t be treated differently
* enforcement using existing rules/methods, applied to number plate manufacturers
