Excited, just ordered MX P90DL Decisions Decisions

I am so excited that I finally pulled the plug on the order. I have until July 17 to finalize my options.
First of all, I can't decide on color between blue and black.

Wheels: I love the onyx black 22" wheels and don't like any of the 20" wheel designs. However I drive a lot in snow and would also tow a boat. Then there is the extra cost involved in more frequent tire changes on the 22" wheels, higher risk of wheel damage and lower range. Therefore I ordered the standard 20" silver wheels and I'm thinking of powder coating it to charcoal black. did anyone tried powder coating these wheels? Would this be a good compromise or should I just go with the 22"

Color: I chose standard black for now. I could not see much difference between standard and metallic black. I also really love the blue color with black wheels and white interior. Black color hides the black plastic side and bottom trim better. Blue seems less boring.

Interior leather: I chose black because of kids, but I really like the white one too. Is the white color harder to clean and easier to tear?

Any advise comments would be appreciated!

Get the 20" wheels - there are too many negatives to the 22" wheels IMHO. Lower range, rougher/louder ride, more expensive tires, easier to curb damage, lower towing weight. I think they look great too, but I just "dipped" (e.g. dipyourcar.com) my 20" wheels black to try it out before powder coating and it looks so much better. Since the color matches the tires you don't notice the 20" versus 22" size difference much and you get all of the upside of the 20" wheels with 22" looks.

Also, you might consider the Black Multi-Pattern seats. I had to wait a long time to get them as I had an early build, but now that I have them I'm glad I got them versus leather.

The ultra white seats are amazing. We have four small kids, and they have had dirty hands, milk, shoes, everything on them. Just a single wipe with a wet rag and they're clean again (though I had a nasty dark spot along a seam today and laughed that the thread didn't clean so easily). They're amazingly comfortable and soft to the touch, beautiful to look at, make the interior seem larger, and keep it cooler in the sun. I just can't say enough good things about the ultra white. If you get premium package, all seats will be perforated, which does have a higher tear risk. I really wish we could have done perforated for the two front seats that are actually ventilated, and non perforated for the rest. But they seem sturdy enough so far. I never compared black and white right next to each other (just at different times), but the white seem sturdier than the black did from memory.

Just get the standard wheel since it comes for free. Then upgrade it to a 21 inch (yes, 21 not 22) later on in third-party wheel shops. You will get both the look and the range. Cheaper/ more choice of tires than the 22 as well.

Hey @DadoP90DL ! Great pick! The SUV to blow past all SUVs. And most every car on the road.

Wheels: I'll echo what folks are saying. Go with base wheels, they seem to fit your usage pattern way more. Am assuming you are going for snow chains (because California) as well, so you have that to consider as well. From Tesla's own store page: "***Only compatible with 19" Cyclone Wheels and 20" Helix Wheels"

Color: That hot blue is the only one I was close to getting instead of multicoat red. I think it looks fantastic, and is not seen as much around here as other colors. Where we both live, Teslas are everywhere. So yes, less boring, and with black wheels, whoa mama!
Granted, the X looks awesome no matter what, but you may want to stand out a touch.

Can't help on the interior, as I am a childless freak!

By the way, I would imagine you have that covered already, but just in case you forgot in all of the excitement, here's $1000 off that X order:

If you use my code, you will receive an autographed picture of a giraffe wearing the jacket Tesla promised me for getting to three referrals. No photoshop. Really.

I just pulled the trigger on the X too. I went the P90D, obsidian black with ultra white interior. I initially had the black leather interior and hours before my order was confirmed I went the ultra white. From what Elon Musk was saying, it seems the wiser idea, especially with kids.
I was also torn between obsidian black and the pearl white, stuck with obsidian black in the end due to the bottom grey sections of the X. I also stuck with the 20 inch wheels and will powder coat those Matt black once I get them.
I already have the model S P90D and that's also obsidian black with black interior, with the charcoal 21inch wheels.

I think you really can't go wrong, I do like your thinking however interms of black as it hides the grey trims along the bottom a little better.

Like me, I think you'll make many changes in the design studio before confirming your order. I think regardless of the design choices, you'll be happy in the end that you bought an awesome car!

Thank you all for your inputs. My order is being finalized by midnight tonight. I decided to stick with the original black interior, white leather and standard 20" wheels.

@Tsportline I am looking into the Tsportsline to get the 20" black turbine wheels. They look gorgeous. Now I have to decide to go with either the matte or gloss finish. I would love to see some pictures of black model X with matt and glossy wheels if possible. Are these wheels and offsets completely identical to the stock model X wheels? How about the weight? Are these lighter?

Did anyone got the premium sound vs standard sound? My ears maybe suck but I could not really tell the difference when listening to both.

@Colby Boles Thanks for the plastidip tip. My son just plasti dipped my 19" Porsche turbo wheels. It looks cool and I can get it back to the original whenever I want.

@e-FTW I got $1000 off directly from the sales rep by ordering from Tesla before July 15th. Would I get another $1000 off by using referral from you? :)

Well, I've never heard of a rebate from ordering from a sales rep. Sounds great though. Are you seeing a $1000 referral credit on your order documents? If not, give your OA this code: Referral | Tesla Motors

My delivery specialist says she sees the $1000 off on the invoice, I think the sales rep was also a Tesla owner so probably he used his code. If I won't see it on the invoice I will definitely use your referral. Thanks

@Allante congrats to your order. The TSportsline 20" looks great in any color. Will you have these installed by Tesla before you get the car or will you swap it after delivery?
@Tsportline thanks for the pictures. Both look amazing. Hard to decide gloss or matte :)

@DadoP90DL: I will have Tesla install them before I pick up the car so that I can sell the stock 20" rims as new. Re your black TSTs, they are indeed amazing in either gloss or matte finish. I picked Silver only because I am not cool enough to pull off black. :)

@DadoP90DL: Earlier you asked whether the TST 20" were lighter than the stock wheels. I spoke with TST which confirmed that the TSTs were 10% (3 lbs) lighter than the stocks. Offsets, etc. are identical. So the TSTs might provide marginally improved ride quality thanks to the sight reduction in unsprung mass.

@Allante I will check with my delivery specialist and let them know to install the TST wheels for me as well. Thanks for the input. This way I will have the car in perfect condition when picking it up. Then I can sell the standard wheels as new too. You got the beautiful red color that is already cool enough :) It goes very well with the silver wheels.
Thanks for confirming the 10% weight reduction. That's awesome. I better place my wheel order now.
