I got the 5.6 update on Friday.
The instrument panel goes to sleep as expected, and takes a few seconds to come up and allow the car to start, however the touchscreen doesn't seem to go to sleep.
I've rebooted the touchscreen, but it didn't change this behavior.
Is this what others are getting as well?

    That's correct behavior.

What's that mean? It goes dark, right? Are you just saying that it comes on immediately, unlike the instrument panel's delay? Or something else?

    (I'm jealous you have 5.6. ;-) )

I'm guessing that's exactly what he means. The car goes dark. When you wake it up the 17 inch is there immediately and the instrument cluster wakes up (a few seconds in my experience so far) with a white (silver?) Tesla across it for a few seconds. It's generally ready to go before I can plug in my phone and get my seat belt on.

Yes, that is exactly what happens.
It looks like the instrument cluster is actually waking up from sleep mode, while the 17 inch is only turning its screen on.
