May be a difference if we get the new nav Elon was talking about ‘soon’. I agree Tesla’s costs is an order of magnitude less than ours so charging (us) for it seems a waste of time.

On the illegal to use a cell while driving, 17 states doesn't tell the whole story, some more local governments ban it. I know the next county west of me has banned it so I am sure there are more counties and cities around the country.
Yes a 1-2yo smartphone is better than the Tesla system, but that doesn't make the Tesla system bad, want to see bad try some other manufacturers. I had a 2015 Chevy SS that was BAD, outdated when I bought it, routinely off by a few hundred feet so it thought I was on surface streets next to the highway and trying to guide me back on the highway, cumbersome to use 2 years in simply cancelling NAV was still hard to find. No address entry when moving even when the passenger seat was occupied, would have been reasonable if it only allowed address entry with passenger present(there is a sensor for the airbags) but that wasn't the case.
