Expiring free SC Miles

My referral supercharging miles are still set to expire on 6/2020.

Got an email from Tesla today telling me my miles are expiring soon, but incorrectly listing them as from Hurricane Dorian.

Pretty hard to use miles when we are all still sheltering in place.

mine is still showing 10/2020- no change

Just to dredge up an old post. I've been under COVID house arrest since 3/10/20 and on October 13th I will lose a little over 1,500 miles. It's not the money folks, it's the principle of the issue. I absolutely can't use them due to the pandemic and Elon should extend the period until after it ends. I can't be the only one in this predicament.

If only you could donate those miles. I'm going on a road trip for my birthday - October 12th and would love to be charging for free ;-}

Tesla should be able to tell if you’ve been driving during this time. Some essential workers, or those not SIP or WFH in their area, will be still driving. So it should be judged on a case by case basis if they don’t do a blanket extension.

I had hoped to use my Dec 2019 acquired miles this summer for a trip but that wasn’t going to happen. Was driving my car for morning coffee and occasional grocery store trips and pick up food orders. Have a SC within easy access so even though I could charge at home started charging there and did manage to use up my 1K miles before my 1 month extended expiration date. Just not how I had hoped to use them ;).

So I finally heard back from Tesla on my expiring miles:

Hello St☰v☰,

Thank you for contacting the Referral Program regarding your Referral award miles. Per the limits of the program here Referral Program all award miles expire 6 months after the miles are added. Please understand we will not be offering any extensions to ensure all owners utilizing the Referral Program have a consistent experience.

We understand these are difficult times for all and wanted to thank you for sharing your excitement for Tesla with the world. We hope you and your family are safe and well.

Best,

So in a nut shell the above says "screw you, we got your money and the two referrals you were stupid enough to convince to buy Teslas and we don't care about COVID or anyone affected by it. You will be losing your 1500 miles on the 13th of October as planned".

And that's their right.. and my right is never convince anyone ever again to buy a Tesla.

Yeah, I got the 1 month bump back in May. My 1000 referral miles originally set to expire 9/20/2020 got extended to 10/20/2020. There was no way I was going to use all 1000 in 6 months, if we were without the pandemic, but I probably would have used 600-700. As it stands, I was able to sneak 1 road trip in around Independence Day. So 825 miles will be gone in 3 weeks.

I have a 14-50 and the UMC at home.
