Extended battery/drive unit warranty

Does anyone offer an extended battery/drive unit warranty after my 8 years are up?

I just don’t want to give up my sunroof and buy a new S, but a $10K repair is not something I’m comfortable risking.

I don't think anyone has an extended warranty for the battery, but don't worry about it. Many Teslas will perform fine for many years after that. Then again, it could go at any time. If you like it, drive it until that time comes for best depreciation. Just deduct the cost of a battery from its value when it fails. It likely will still have value. Then get another car.

If a battery pack fails and its taken to Tesla, assuming that there is no warranty left? You might want to double that $10k estimate..
