Exterior Tesla Cameras

Hello Tesla community!

I will be hopefully taking delivery of my MYLR before the end of the month and I have been trying to get as much information as possible to be prepared.

While driving, will the external cameras always be recording, or do I need to activate them before each session?

Also, I read that the new MYs will include the necessary USB drive device to store footage of driving and also sentry mode? Is that the case? Thank you very much for the help!

Cameras are recording while driving if you have Dashcam enabled. This is a camera icon at top right of screen. You can turn it on and off by holding down. When red dot is visible its active. Press once to save the last 10mins of video. There are other options for Auto (accidents, etc) or Honk (saves on horn honk).
All new builds of Model Y (at least 2022 afaik, and mine) include the 128gb USB drive plugged into the glovebox port.
