The rolling resistance of a train is typically about 5 times less than that of a truck, so effectively the F-150 was towing 250,000 lb if this was a load on a trailer with normal wheels.
This looks like yet another marketing stunt to me. Why wouldn't the S or X be able to tow this just as well? I can't imagine the electric F150 being that much more powerful than a P100D.
Of course it’s a publicity stunt. Their goal was to get the attention away from Tesla. Most people will see a tiny truck pull a big train and be amazed by it.
