Cost??

A few have asked so I’ll post here:

- I bought this car directly from Tesla. I am the second owner. The warranty expires in 2023 or 85,000 miles.
- The Free Unlimited Super Charging is fully transferable
- Free data for life is also fully transferable.
- The 21inch turbines are staggered.
- Car has full pano-roof.

Not being critical in any way but I thought Tesla was resetting the UFSC that was originally transferable on the older S and X’s to single owner non transferable UFSC on the cars that passed through Tesla ownership and sold as used cars for the last few years. Free bump anyway, GLWS

Not the OP but that was roughly a year ago. If the car was purchased from Tesla before that point or anytime from a private party it transfers.

Yeah that’s what I said, Tesla has been removing it from their used cars, but not private sales which they can’t. Roughly a year ago?, I think it was quite a bit before that though and the reason why I mentioned it. It would be actually be helpful if someone actually knew a date when they started removing rather than just speculating. The OP purchased in 2019 based on him saying a 2023 warranty expiration. Another free bump

Thanks for the free bump!

The reason I’m 99.9% confident that UFSC transfers is because a neighbor of mine bought a Model S in Dec 2018 and recently sold his. The new car is registered an UFSC, and free Data works for the new owner. Now unless something changed between Dec 2018-March 2019 that I’m unaware of I think the new owner should be good.

Moreover, I’ve even heard stories of newer vehicles, sold privately in which UFSC transferred. I’m sure those are one offs, not the rule. But I wonder with privately sold cars if UFSC really does get removed.

Technically, all cars after Jan 15, 2017 had non-transferrable UFSC. Only cars before that data would UFSC transfer to the new owner. Your neighbor probably will eventually see that go away (it's happened many times before) as Tesla catches up on registrations.

Just talked to an advisor at Tesla about UFSC (Derrick). He said with 100% confidence that in my car it would transfer. He said the qualification is based off the build date of the car and that almost anything pre-2017 should qualify. Most 2017’s would also, and 2018 on would not.

Not my words but his. I asked if it was possible to have this in writhing, he said for my car specifically yes, but not a blanket statement for all others.
