Factory reset while parked?

My car (Sep 19 build LR AWD) was parked at work yesterday for about 5 hours. I activated the Climate just before I went out to it. When I got there, it let me in, but the screen was blank and unresponsive. I did the two-scrollwheel reboot, and it came back alive, but all personalized settings except locks (cards & phones) were reset to factory settings. Software updated to 2022.20.8 several days ago, and no update was done in the parking lot.

Is this likely a 12V battery problem or some other relatively common problem?

I have seen a few posts about people losing settings after an update, but not a widespread thing. I havent noticed any correlation in the posts I remember reading, either. I realize that this isnt super helpful, but I at least wanted to let you know I havent seen anything tying this to something specific, yet had seen people post about it a few times.

After 10 days, Tesla texted me and said they could not find anything in the uploaded data, so i should cancel the service appointment. Now I'm supposed to wait until it happens again...

No point in reporting it at all, since the uploaded data will be reset again, and they'll tell you to cancel the appointment again. Welcome to the world of comouters!
