Factory Window Heat Rejection

Been doing a lot of research on this and the common opinion is that the refreshed Model X rear windows are only privacy glass and don’t provide any UV/IR rejection. Only the sun roof windows have any UV/IR rejection Has anyone ever verified this with a meter? I got quoted by a local to tint shop $3100 for full frontal xpel PPF and xpel ceramic tints. I’m on the fence of getting tints done on all windows if the rears already have some UV/IR rejection. I would only get the driver and passenger side windows done if the rears don’t need it. Also can anyone advise on if this is a good deal?

It is an OK deal, not great deal. Normal rate for full frontal in CA is about 2000, plus 1000 for all windows. It is normal rate for CA, but I still think it is a bit rip-off. 1500 for this package would be fair.

Oh I see what you mean, ya can't do anything to avoid the California pricing as it's where I live.

Check out terrific tint in laguna hills on cabot rd . Let her know rob lee referred you- they are great - just did full front and sides high end on model y ( uv / inferred ceramic etc) for $550

You will need to have the rears tinted as well for heat rejection

Check out terrific tint in laguna hills on cabot rd . Let her know rob lee referred you- they are great - just did full front and sides high end on model y ( uv / inferred ceramic etc) for $550

Big difference between Y and X. WIndshield on the X alone costs more than doing all-around on the Y.
