Here's an article by the Fairbanks paper. Fairbanks Newspaper on T5 Also some good discussions with the Fairbanks power utility which should result in an article in their publication(s). My thinking is to establish a trophy to be handed off to each person that beats the prior time. Given the intent of companies to expand the charging infrastructure in Canada, and the plans for some of the RV parks to upgrade their infrastructure from 110V 30A to 220V 50A, it will get easier and quicker each year. Seems that it would be a good tool to keep some attention on EVs and their infrastructure in Canada and Alaska (some of the final frontiers).

Moderator, wasn't sure where the best spot was to post this. Feel free to move appropriately.

Cool, that´s a great journey just for the landscape, and driving in a Tesla makes it double fun I guess! Have only done some of HWY 1 between San Francisco and LA and test driven a Model S (not at the same time ;).

I predict next year they'll use a Model S as a chase/camera car on Ice Road Truckers.

    Op,

Rather than a new thread for each media post on this event, can we change the title of this thread to Media reports of California to Alaska trip.

    Tesla fans,

Here's a public radio interview I did in Juneau. There is a transcript as well. Out may play on several radio stations in Alaska. Part of it is below...

Seconds after Guy Hall pulled into a parking lot full of Subarus at KTOO on Monday, five reporters were gawking at his sleek, red Tesla Model S.
Hall is the president of the Sacramento Electric Vehicle Association. He spent 17 days driving from the California-Mexico border to Fairbanks, and now he’s on the return leg.
    00:

He’s a retired Hewlett-Packard research and development guy and an electric car evangelist. At home in Sacramento, he has two more modest electric cars: a Nissan Leaf and a Chevy Volt.
