Good one. Unfairfaxtax?Unfairfax?
Such a crock of *sugar*. I'd love to understand the logic behind taxing me for buying the car, and then taxing me again annually into perpetuity just for the pleasure of owning it. I can sort of see the logic for real estate, but a car has wheels.
Where did you read that?Only for model years 2020 and beyond, $100 annually.
A quick follow up; I reached out to the county and they responded within a day. They admitted that they had the model wrong and reduced the value of the car by about $6k.
The tax ends up still over $1000 for the year though.
Between this tax, the new tax that kicked in in July for electric vehicles, insurance, and a bunch of smaller fees....and all the while my car is standing parked at home with maybe the odd grocery trip.
Did you call or email them, because I'm not getting a response back after emailing them twice.
Last year I went to room 261 and there is a Tesla specialist that handles all the adjustments. This svcks if I have to go there every year and fight with them.

This is where I get to gloat about living in NJ.
No sales tax on EVs. At all - not at purchase, not annually.
Hey, c’mon, give me this. There’s not much I get to gloat about when it comes to living here ... besides the top notch schools, the great landscape (beaches, farms, forests, rolling hills), clean energy (0% coal), the food (real pizza!) and some fantastic suburban living - access to NYC when I need it but don’t have to deal with living there. guess it isn’t so bad after all .....
