This is my first post here.

We have a X90D on order, so I've been reading up on the vehicle to feel more prepared. A common thread, especially lately, is the quality of the FWD doors.

By quality, I mostly mean their reliability/functioning. Example problems: Do they open/close properly in the various modes (full open, low open, close open)? Do they click, snap, or rub on chrome trim or other parts? Do they leak air/water into the cabin? Do they contact the front doors or any other part of the car they should not contact?

There are so many stories of issues with the doors that it definitely creates a perception that any X driver should feel lucky each time they open successfully. Since forums like this are usually filled with complaints (who wants to post "My doors worked properly" every day?), I thought it might be helpful to fight the negativity bias with a quick poll of as many X drivers as possible.

So, let's cast a wider net and (maybe) help those of us like myself who are waiting on an order and getting anxious about the X's FWD being a reliability mess

Driver side FWD tore off the chrome trim and seal on door 5 minutes after delivery. Repaired and working fine since. VIN in sig. Production mid-Sept.

Took delivery of my 60D at Fremont Factory on Tuesday, the driver side FWD made a creek sound when opening and the delivery specialist had them send it to the service department to fix. Worked fine until I got home and then it happened again. Wednesday night the creek sound was still there and now the popping of plastic noise started happening on same door. Drove it directly to service center to fix it, they claimed it just needed "lubrication" and it seems to be gone, but now the passenger side FWD is doing the popping noise. Delivery and build certainly feels rushed...

In our experience with our X, a majority of the issues are a result of the software (if you can call them issues). The behavior can change wildly depending on what has been tuned or not tuned. Recently I noticed that they've disabled one of the safety sensors embedded within the top inner edge of the door. That was a bit surprising to me as we have two toddlers who I do fear will be reaching up when the doors close if I am not careful. Mechanically things have been good. There is some creaking and popping when the door opens and closes, but I don't think much of those to tell you the truth.

I have the same exact two issues. The door is still fully functional, though, so I'm happy and not ini a hurry to take it in.

The driver door on the other hand...
